Double Capricorn

He may be the son of Talia Shire, nephew of Francis Ford Coppola, cousin of Nicolas Cage, and Sofia Coppola but it doesn’t matter. When you can write hook laden rock/pop like Schwartzman and sing like this, you could have been descended from an Irish potato farmer and a German washer woman and you’d be a hit.

He’s got the DNA in his musical talent of John Lennon, George Michaels, The Bee Gees, Todd Rundgren the Beach Boys and a host of other rock/pop luminaries.

Perhaps most famous in the music world as the front man for the rock band, Rooney whose song “When Did Your Heart Go Missing” was a well received single on the pop charts in ‘07 and have been pretty successful opening for bands such as Weezer and The Strokes.

Schwartzman who recently performed with Sean Lennon and Rufus Wainwright at the 9/11 benefit and covered “This Boy” has also lent his voice to performances with The Jonas Brothers and Hanson has got those “pop star” good looks but he is also a song writer to be reckoned with. This whole album speaks to that talent. Some of my favorite tracks are “Second Chances” where you can hear the vocal influence of John Lennon and the pop/rock sensibilities of the Beatles, “You Don’t Have To Lie” is a great dance tune with influences that range from The Beach Boys to Styx, “I Know Why” is backed by some electronica and shows the George Michaels influences, and “Funny Money” is a great pop tune that has the underlying message of the transience of the quick buck.

This album was a surprise as I expected a throw away tune by a Hollywood insider riding a famous family, but it became clear that it was talent that earned him the ride.

What’s even better is all album, licensing and touring revenue
will benefit the Tibetan Healing Fund, a not-for-profit humanitarian
organization established to improve primary healthcare and education
for rural Tibetan women and children in the Tibetan regions of P.R.
China. Fans can pre-order their copy of Double Capricorn through
RobertSchwartzman.com, where the album will be available as either a
digital download or a physical copy. Physical copies will be
available exclusively through the website and will not be available in

Says Robert, "It brings me so much happiness to take something I love to do, write
and record music, and use that music for an important cause like the
Tibetan Healing Fund. I'm excited to perform these new songs and
share them with everybody,"

He’s also touring to promote this, his first solo effort. here’s some of the venues:
